The Summer Ukrainian Language and Culture Program is the largest and most prestigious Ukrainian as a foreign language program in Ukraine, welcoming approximately one hundred students from over twenty countries each summer.
The Summer Program is a unique combination of academics and culture. Each day consists of Ukrainian language classes, one-on-one tutoring, workshops or lecture about Ukrainian history, politics, economy, art, culture or contemporary issues. Evening and weekend excursions are also a part of the program.
Language classes are offered at proficiency levels ranging from beginner to advanced, and each session can be done at two levels of intensity: standard and intensive. Each day, every student meets one-on-one with a native-speaking tutor who also, if needed, accompanies the student on evening activities and excursions to maximize language practice.
The Summer Program consists of two three-week sessions. Students may enroll in any of the sessions, for anywhere between two and six weeks total. Participants are eligible to obtain academic credits upon successful completion of the course and passing of the final exam.
