For Students from Germany:

DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) offered Scholarships for  the Ukrainian Language and Culture Summer School in 2011 & 2012 with the program GO EAST. We expect to receive next scholarships for 2014 Summer Program.


The Scholarship for 2012 covered your trip to Lviv and back (up to 200 EUR) and 75% of the main expenses of the Program:

  1. Registration, tuition
  2. All classes and practical sessions
  3. Accommodations (double room with internet access)
  4. Meal plan (welcome dinner, breakfast & dinner on weekdays, final dinner)
  5. All excursions included in the Summer program
  6. One overnight trip for a weekend
  7. Pre-arrival information
  8. Welcoming students at the airport, railway or bus station
  9. Full orientation on arrival
  10. Personal counseling in English
  11. Detailed students’ handbook

The Scholarship does not covered meals on weekends, insurance, weekend trips, extra cources for credits, refundable housing damage deposit and other additional services.

The total cost of the 3 week Standard cource (Session C) is $1,702 (1260,7 EUR).

The Summer Language & Culture Program is a special summer school offered by the School of Ukrainian Language & Culture of the Ukrainian Catholic University in Lviv since 2003. The Academic Program of the school caters to students of all levels, from beginners to advanced. Course materials are customized to meet individual needs. Academic credits are transferable to most North American and European Colleges and Universities.

Who is eligible?

Undergraduate students of all majors (studying for BA or for Master’s degree) interested in Ukrainian studies, culture and heritage who are citizens of Germany.

How to apply?

1) Please complete the application form, attach your formal photo (passport size) and send it to us by email ( before  May 1st 2012

2) Wait for the official decision from us within 15 days (we may ask you for some extra information)

3) If your application is approved by our school then you may apply to DAAD to receive the scholarship

4) If your application is approved by DAAD you will receive a scholarship

5) Pay the registration fee (within 5 days after receiving the scholarship from DAAD)


The scholarships are available only for standard course of

session C:

July 23rd   – August 11th

The number of scholarships is limited

Deadline:  May 1st 2012


Last Summer (2011) 4 Students from Germany reseived a Scholarship from DAAD's GO EAST program. The scholarship covered the registration and tuition fees, accommodation and meals, as well as school excursions.
