Lviv Art Gallery

Lviv's Art Gallery is the largest art museum in Ukraine, and home to a unique collection of fine arts, sculpture and graphic arts from Western and Eastern Europe, dating from the middle ages to today. A real diamond among the gallery’s outstanding exhibits is a painting by George de la Tour titled “At the money-lender’s”. It is the only work by this mysterious European artist kept in Ukraine, and actually one of the few of his surviving works in the entire world.

Museum of Ethnography and Folk Art

This is one of the most specialized ethnographical museums in Europe, housing the richest collection of Ukrainian folk art. Among its treasures is a collection of traditional Ukrainian clothing, which includes 19-20th century traditional wear from virtually all historic and ethnographic regions of Ukraine. The Lviv Museum of Ethnography possesses the largest and the fullest collection of Ukrainian painted Easter eggs, totaling to over 12 thousand.

Lviv's Pharmacy Museum

This museum of pharmaceutical history was opened on the premises of an old pharmacy in 1966. The idea of creating such a museum had already come up in the XIX century. The Galician Association of Pharmacists was created in 1868 and members managed to assemble a small collection of exhibits, making the first step toward creating a museum. Nowadays, the exhibition has expanded considerably, with 16 exhibit rooms and a general exhibition surface totalling 700 sq. m. There are more than 3,000 exhibits in the museum.
This is the only operating Pharmacy Museum in Ukraine and Europe. Besides the unique historical pharmacy, you can visit the museum itself, which presents rare and curious exhibits assembled by scientists, pharmacists, and enthusiastic collectors.

Andrey Sheptytsky National Museum in Lviv

The collections in the museum total more than 140,000 unique items. The museum takes a special pride in presenting the largest and most complete collection of medieval sacral art of the XII-XVIII centuries. Icons, manuscripts, rare ancient books, decoratively carved pieces of art, metal and plastic artworks, and fabrics embroidered with gold and silver are displayed.
The museum also boasts a unique monument of Ukrainian Baroque style: the Bohorodchansky Iconostasis.
Exhibits include:  Ancient Ukrainian art from the XII – XV centuries; Ukrainian art from the XVI – XVIII centuries; and Ukrainian art from the end of the XVIII – to the beginning of the XX centuries.

Shevchenko Grove

This park is located in one of the most picturesque parts of the city. A display of exceptionally beautiful wooden houses and churches create an authentic atmosphere of Ukrainian villages from various regions of the country. Not a single museum in the world can boast such a large number of religious buildings. Performances of folk music and dance groups are often staged within Shevchenko Grove, and liturgies are held in its churches.

Lviv History Museum

This is one of the richest museums in Ukraine. Among the rarities exhibited here are encolpions – hollow crosses intended for storing holy relics. The museum also houses the books of the first Ukrainian printer Ivan Fedorov, as well as a collection of on-coffin portraits which is of immeasurable historical and cultural value. Yet another of the museum’s impressive treasures is an original signet ring made by a German craftsman in the 17th century. This ring is believed to have been used by mages for communication with the other world. A total of about 1.5 million unique artifacts are kept in Lviv’s museums.

Lviv's Beer Museum

The first museum of brewing in Ukraine, with an area of over 500 square meters, is located in an historic building of the ХIX century. There is an exclusive exhibits displaying antique beer mugs and beer beakers made in various styles and brought from different European countries as well as recipe books of the XIX century. Guests can visit the tasting room and purchase souvenirs.
